Spain marches into EURO 2008 finals

I was shocked to see today morning headlines that Spain had trounced russia. I coul'nt beleive it. Thanks to Electricity board(EB) people of White fields and our honorable cable guy for not allowing me and my room mate Neeru thambhi (Wizard of Amazon) to see the semifinal match. As soon as the first drop of rain falls in any part of hyderabad, our EB officials happily switch off the power supply.

Anyway, I would have hated seeing Russia lose the match.Better luck next time for them. Now that Germany and Spain are going to fight for the final spot, i would support Spain to win it!!

Lets see as to what's in store for the final.

Turkey gets its own medicine

The semifinal match between Turkey and Germany turned out to be an evenly contested match. I had a feeling that Germany might just steam roll over much depleted Turkish side.

A much-weakened Turkey side had dominated the first half but were only level at half-time after Germany's Bastian Schweinsteiger had cancelled out Ugur Boral's opener. The second half was evenly contested by both the sides. Both the sides had a fair chance of scoring the goal in the second half.

Germany took the lead through Klose in the 79th minute. Rustu looked favourite to come out and claim Lahm's lofted cross into the area, but Klose beat both the goalkeeper and Topal to the ball to send a glancing header into an unguarded net.

That might have spelt the end of some side's hopes, but Turkey had proven themselves an obstinate opponent in the three previous matches and, astonishingly, they managed to net yet another late goal.

Sabri sent over a low cross and Semih managed to poke the ball past Lehmann at his near post
After seeing Senturk scoring in last five minutes, I felt that Turkey were going to make history by staging a comeback in the final minutes and go to the Euro Final. But Philip Lahm had other intentions. His 90th minute winner shut the doors for Turkey.

Waiting for the semifinals between Russia and Spain tonight. I would like to see Russia lift the EURO 2008. but let's keep our fingers crossed till that.

"DUS KE DUS" for Kamal in Dasavathaaram

WOW!!!This was my first expression after watching dasavathaaram. Before watching the movie, I had got mixed response from my friends . Most of them were saying that dasavathaaram can be watched only once and that too for Kamal. But after seeing the movie, I felt that we can understand the movie only after watching it twice.Hats off to kamal for his acting and especially for the roles of Naidu and the old lady. These roles were quite realastic.
We cannot compare these movies with Anbe sivam,Mahanadhi or Nayagan. These movies had brought the best of kamal's acting. But Dasavathaaram and Hey ram has given Kollywood a brilliant screenplay and story writer. The way he has linked all the characters in the film is really amazing. Eventhough he has acted well, his acting takes a back seat in front of his story and screenplay. Thanks to kamal for giving such a good movie for Tamil Audience.

KG,ALLEN,and PAUL lead Celtics to their 17th NBA title on June 17th

It would have been a record in the NBA history had Lakers come from 1-3 down to win the trophy.

But the three Big Celtics had a different plan. KG,Allen and Paul ensured that Lakers wont make history. It was a complete one sided affair and the result could not have been different.

Being a Lakers fan, it would have been good if they would have lost the match a bit close. But, Congrats to Celtics for taking the title.

Kobe, better luck next time.

Sharing of my personal experience with NGO!!

While doing my MBA @ Great Lakes Institute of management, one good thing that happened to me was to start working with a NGO. Sanjeev, Rajesh, Anubhav , Nesa and I worked for Nethaji Mercy home. It is an orphanage located in Velachery. 24 children in the age group of 6 months to 15 years are residing in this orphanage. As part of Karma yoga course, we were supposed to work for a month and uplift the life of children staying there. People might think that it is quite ridiculous to do such a thing within a month.

For the sake of the course credits, we started working for the NGO. At the end of one month, I found it really difficult to disengage myself from NGO. Even today, after one year, whenever possible I make it a point to meet the children and spend some good time with them. It is here that I understood that, after all money is not the most important thing in one's life!!Some where I have read that "Time we spent enjoying is not wasted time". It is only here that I understood the meaning of that.

In this hectic life of ours, where earning money and reputation is the only goal,we can also spend some time with these people who really require our attention. Money is only a secondary requirement for these people living in these orphanages and old age homes. Love and affection from people like us is their foremost requirement.

Dont take this as a preaching. But this is just my viewpoint. Why dont we allocate some time every week or month or year and make it a point to share our love and affection with these people in orphanages and old age homes (and if possible, some money :) ). Lets spread love and affection and make this world a better place to live.

You can find details of the NGO at the following website address.

Final scoreline says it all !! LAL 87 BOL 81

After Sunday's Match, Those who had doubts on L A Lakers being NBA champions can bury all their doubts.

It was Kobe all the way from start to end. He was the top scorer of the game with 36 points. He was equally well supported by Sasha with 20 points. They were the only double digit scorers for Lakers.

On the other hand, for Boston, Only Allen was repeatedly netting the ball. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce had a forgettable game. Garnett's stats were 6 of 21 whereas for pierce it was even bad at 2 of 14!!!( This is what pressure is all about)

Now that Lakers have brought down the lead from 2-0 to 2-1, the remaining games will be even more interesting.

Celtics!!Watch out for KOBE in the fourth match on thursday!!
